Samsung Promoting a product launch through live streaming

Samsung Italia Galaxy S22 products were highlighted in Twitch creator CKibe’s livestream during Galaxy Creative Fest.

Galaxy Creative Fest was promoted on the Twitch homepage.

Because Samsung Italia wanted to introduce its new smartphone to a younger adult audience, they worked with the Amazon Ads team to develop a Twitch marketing campaign to showcase the latest features of the Samsung Galaxy S22. With the help of Amazon Ads, Samsung Italia launched its new Galaxy S22 series during a six-hour streaming event on Twitch called “Galaxy Creative Fest” on February 9, 2022.
The event was hosted by three popular Italian Twitch creators. The creators each introduced a Samsung Galaxy product from the S22 line - S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra - to their individual communities.
“Each Twitch creator - CKibe, Kodomo and JodyJDC - developed their own original version of an unboxing video live on Twitch, sharing the product's features with their community,” said Russo.
Each Twitch creator's livestream delivered an experience that was authentic to their brand and tailored to the interests of their community. To start, CKibe walked her fans through the process of creating digital artwork. Kodomo turned her livestream into a digital photography masterclass. And JodyJDC concluded the streaming event by turning descriptions of the Galaxy S22 smartphone and its features into song lyrics. Not only did he sing those lyrics, but he also performed some of his hits on his channel that he had performed during a popular Italian music festival earlier this month.
During the live streams, viewers were able to ask questions and discuss Samsung products in the Twitch chat. In addition, the three live streams helped direct audiences to Samsung's website, where shoppers could explore, learn and purchase the brand's products.
"The Twitch audiences are exactly the 'hard to reach' young adults we wanted to target during this flagship live stream launch," said Russo. "Our goal was to position the Samsung Galaxy S22 as the perfect device for customers' needs and increase Samsung's brand awareness for this young adult audience."
In addition, the Amazon Ads team ran a full-funnel campaign during the European National Champions League that included not only customized solutions on Twitch, but also live sports commercials on Prime Video during the European National Champions League and launched a 24-hour Amazon homepage takeover on Amazon Italy (Amazon.it), which provided Samsung with a standard banner ad with guaranteed delivery. The Amazon Ads team also used Amazon Video and Display Ads to connect traffic to the Amazon Italy store's custom landing page created for the Samsung Galaxy S22 product line, as well as a display solution that linked traffic to the Samsung Galaxy S22 product detail page to achieve the conversion goal
